Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts or food services technology/management
- minimum three years of kitchen management experience
- proven ability in food preparation and safety standards
- strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health regulations
- proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer literacy
- excellent leadership and communication skills
- ServSafe certification preferred
- ability to manage inventory and kitchen operations effectively
Job Qualifications
- B.S. or equivalent experience in Culinary Arts, Food Services Technology/Management, or related field
- A.O.S. or equivalent experience in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate and required experience
- minimum of three to five years of dynamic culinary/kitchen management experience
- extensive catering experience is a plus
- high volume, sophisticated foodservice operations experience is highly desirable
- institutional and batch cooking experiences
- hands-on chef experience
- extensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- experience with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, Email, and the Internet
- willingness to participate in patient satisfaction programs/activities
- ServSafe certified is highly desirable
Job Duties
- Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
- follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
- complete daily production worksheets and waste log sheets
- taste completed meals to ensure quality
- train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, food safety, and sanitation
- establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas
- maintain inventory of food and non-food supplies within established guidelines
- make decisions regarding the utilization of leftover food products
- align with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
- follow facility, department, and Company safety policies and procedures
- participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs
