Job Description

OVG's hospitality division at the Seattle Aquarium in Seattle, WA is seeking an Executive Chef to oversee all food and beverage preparation operations. The Executive Chef will champion OVG's sustainability initiatives at the Aquarium, including achieving zero waste by 2025, prioritizing sustainable purchasing, and maintaining a fully electric appliance kitchen.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of kitchen management experience in a full-service restaurant or events venue
  • demonstrated track record of meeting projected costs
  • professional appearance and presentation
  • knowledge of computer software
  • current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required
  • working knowledge of employee scheduling
  • ability to obtain and maintain certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program
  • technical proficiency in food preparation methods
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to train and develop staff
  • problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and long hours
