Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 or more hours
  • Must be able to regularly bend, lift and/or move 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in extreme cold, wet, humid, or hot conditions
  • Must be available to work early mornings, nights and weekends
  • Ability to motivate associates to achieve sales and customer service goals
  • Must be familiar with proper use and supervision of all department equipment
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain excellent communication within department and organization

Job Qualifications

  • Food service certification required
  • Previous management experience required
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Food Service Management Certification required
  • Culinary degree or a combination of work experience and education is required
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to express ideas effectively
  • Excellent knowledge of products carried in the department
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and goal orientation
  • Positive attitude with strong people skills, innovative and proactive approach
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Ability to convert measurements to properly prepare recipes

Job Duties

  • Direct and supervise all functions and activities of the department in order to achieve sales, gross profit, customer service and labor goals
  • Oversee all department employees including training, ordering, time and attendance, employee purchase policy, and discipline
  • Assist the Catering Concierge Manager in implementing and coordinating the Party Planning Guide/Catering program
  • Develop and implement plans for maximizing sales, gross profits and overall departmental results
  • Effectively manage the department to meet or exceed company standards
  • Direct workflow and coordinate activities related to production, sale, merchandising and distribution of department products
  • Adhere to all health and labor laws, OSHA regulations and EEOC requirements to ensure a safe and discrimination-free work environment
