Job Requirements
- minimum 3 years experience as an Executive Chef
- degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred
- food handler certification
- alcohol awareness certification if applicable
- strong interpersonal communication skills
- knowledge of food trends and preparation
- proficiency with relevant software including POS and inventory management
- flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and varied shifts
- ability to lead and develop a culinary team
- experience in purchasing, inventory and maintaining kitchen operations
- knowledge of health, safety, and labor regulations
Job Qualifications
- 2 or 4 year degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred
- minimum 3 years experience as an Executive Chef in large, fast-paced, multi-outlet kitchens
- passionate about industry trends and knowledgeable in product, presentation, preparation, food costing, menu design, and people management
- excellent interpersonal communication skills
- ability to collaborate with PR and Marketing on campaigns and budgets
- flexible schedule with availability on weekends, nights, mornings, and holidays
- food handler certification and alcohol awareness certification if applicable
- proficiency with Microsoft Office, restaurant POS systems, inventory management, procurement, payroll, timekeeping, business and accounting software
Job Duties
- Create an exciting and innovative seasonal menu using knowledge of food trends and ingredients
- lead daily culinary operations with efficiency, integrity, and compassion
- oversee team leadership, communication, training, development, and problem resolution
- ensure all food products meet recipe, portioning, and cooking standards
- perform inventory and purchasing responsibilities daily
- supervise daily cleaning and maintenance of kitchen and prep areas
- meet financial targets while achieving food quality and service objectives
- maintain kitchen equipment through inspections and preventative maintenance
- foster team growth and collaborative culture built on respect
- prepare paperwork including reports and schedules timely
- follow all health, safety, and labor regulations
- schedule labor while maintaining cost objectives
- lead ongoing service education and training programs
- interview, hire, train, appraise, discipline employees and resolve workplace issues
