Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five to seven years of commercial cooking experience
- Minimum two years in a managerial role
- Culinary apprenticeship or certification preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations including HACCP
- Strong financial acumen
- Ability to lead and motivate teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to work on-site at Seattle facility
Job Qualifications
- Five to seven years of experience in commercial cooking
- At least two years in a management position
- Apprenticeship or certification course from culinary school preferred
- Additional certifications such as diet chef or industrial chef preferred
- Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations including HACCP
- Financial understanding
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving ability
Job Duties
- Oversees all food production activities in responsible CSC
- Responsible for deviations in inventories, initiates countermeasures if necessary
- Controls and adjusts production plans, estimates consumption of food and equipment
- Ensures compliance of recipe specifications and conducts sense-checks
- Participates in the development of food products and menus
- Updates and distributes catering manuals within responsible CSC
- Responsible for cost controlling of budget, personnel and material costs
- Coordinates and controls countermeasures in the production in case of customer complaints
- Checks service schedules, assesses economic profitability and conducts sense-checks
- Establishes training strategy and training plans for kitchen staff
- Represents kitchen and staff to external stakeholders
- Keeps up to date regarding industry trends and aligns with design chefs
- Ensures production technology is appropriate and participates in marketing activities
- Ensures quality of goods received
- Maintains tidiness and first in - first out principle in food storage
- Guarantees adherence to hygiene, health and safety standards including HACCP regulations
- Ensures area is organized, staffed and directed
- Guides, motivates and develops employees within human resources policy
- Implements company values and management principles in department
- Controls cost budget and initiates corrective actions
- Supports company initiatives such as Global Quality Standard, HACCP and Lean Manufacturing
