This Executive Chef role is positioned within the KBR/NSS Intel division, part of KBR Government Solutions. This division exemplifies KBR's commitment to operational excellence and innovation, working on pivotal federal contracts that demand the highest standards of professionalism and technical expertise. The Executive Chef will be based at an overseas location (OCONUS) and is required to work fully onsite, reflecting the role's operational importance in delivering essential services where they are needed most.

The Executive Chef at KBR is a key contributor to ensuring the delivery of high-quality meal services to support mission personnel. This position demands a culinary expert who excels in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management while maintaining rigorous adherence to safety and sanitation standards. The chef's responsibilities include preparing and presenting meals that meet high-quality standards, developing recipes, managing kitchen operations, and overseeing inventory. The role requires strong collaboration skills to efficiently coordinate with kitchen staff and ensure timely, consistent meal service.

Candidates must uphold the highest levels of compliance with food safety regulations, including Serve-Safe standards, and possess experience working in large-scale food service operations, including cafeteria-style and multi-entrée meal services. Experience in leading and developing a food service team is essential to foster a productive and efficient kitchen environment. This role not only requires culinary expertise but also demands adaptability to operate effectively within challenging and dynamic food service environments.

Additionally, the successful candidate will possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a US Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph. This clearance requirement underscores the sensitivity of the operational environment and the importance of maintaining stringent security protocols.

Job Requirements

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance with ability to obtain US TS/SCI with Poly level clearance
  • associate degree in Culinary Arts or minimum thirteen (13) years’ food service experience including seven (7) years as Executive Chef
  • minimum ten (10) years’ experience in food services
  • minimum five (5) years experience as Executive Chef
  • experience in large food service operations with cafeteria or multi-entrée services
  • experience leading and developing a food service team
  • experience providing high-quality complete meal service
  • experience working in challenging food service environments
  • experience maintaining Serve-Safe standards

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent
  • minimum thirteen (13) years’ experience in food services
  • seven (7) years experience as an Executive Chef
  • experience in large food service operations involving cafeteria-style or multi-entrée services
  • proven leadership and team development skills in food service environments
  • strong knowledge of Serve-Safe standards
  • ability to maintain high quality meal service in challenging environments

Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, marinating, and ensuring proper portioning for recipes
  • cook food according to kitchen standards, following recipes to ensure consistency and taste
  • ensure cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking equipment, and utensils, following sanitation and food safety standards
  • create menus including determining ingredients and cooking methods to prepare and present dishes effectively
  • monitor quality of ingredients and finished dishes to maintain consistency and high standards
  • prepare dishes in a timely manner ensuring meals are ready according to the service schedule
  • work closely with kitchen staff to manage operations, communicate orders, and ensure efficient meal preparation
  • track and manage kitchen supplies and create reorders
  • adhere to health and safety regulations and kitchen procedures including proper storage and food handling techniques
