Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional areas, or a 2-year degree with 4 years of experience
  • Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Strong culinary skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with relevant culinary experience
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major preferred
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years of professional experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related fields
  • Strong culinary skills including food preparation, presentation, and plating
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills with ability to lead teams and make sound decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests, staff, and other departments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Leads kitchen management team
  • Oversees all food preparation areas including banquets, room service, restaurants, bar/lounge, and employee cafeteria
  • Manages support areas such as dish room and purchasing
  • Provides direction for menu development collaborating with other chefs and managers
  • Manages employee training and development ensuring staff adherence to food preparation, safety, and sanitation procedures
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation standards
  • Monitors the quality of raw and cooked food products to maintain consistency and standards
  • Determines food presentation and creates decorative food displays
  • Maintains purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards managing inventory and minimizing waste
  • Provides information to executive teams, managers, and supervisors
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to solve problems
  • Interacts with banquet chefs and catering departments on training regarding food knowledge and menu composition
