The role of Executive Chef aboard American Cruise Lines is a prestigious and hands-on leadership position that takes place aboard the ships during the 2025 season. This position carries the important responsibility of ensuring every meal served meets the highest culinary standards and offers passengers a memorable dining experience. The Executive Chef will be deeply engaged in all aspects of meal planning, preparation, taste testing, plating, and presentation. The shipboard culinary team requires a leader who is not only highly skilled in cooking but also proficient in managing and mentoring the galley crew members to maintain the highest standards of kitchen operations.
Living and working on board offers a unique blend of professional challenges and personal comforts, including well-equipped galleys with spectacular views and comfortable living quarters. The Executive Chef will oversee all kitchen activities, ensuring adherence to FDA safety standards, managing inventory control, scheduling fresh ingredient production, and maintaining food quality and consistency. This role demands strong organizational skills, the ability to manage pressures of a busy kitchen environment, and a commitment to delivering service excellence.
In addition to culinary expertise, the Executive Chef will foster a professional and cooperative atmosphere within the team and maintain impeccable personal grooming and sanitary conditions. The candidate must be adaptable to the dynamic and fast-paced nature of on-board life, where last-minute changes and special requests are common. Working seven days a week during assigned on-board periods, with skilled support provided for travel, room, board, uniforms, and training, this position offers an extraordinary opportunity to combine culinary passion with travel and leadership experience within the cruise industry.Show Less

Job Requirements
- Minimum 6-8 years experience in full-service resort, hotel, country club and banquets
- ServSafe Manager Certification strongly preferred
- Familiar with food safety standards
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work with composure under pressure
