Job Description

Hard Rock Hotel NY is seeking an Executive Chef to oversee all day-to-day culinary operations and catering for the hotel, developing menus, procuring culinary equipment and ingredients, and ensuring the quality of all culinary dishes served. The Executive Chef supervises, trains, and develops kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety/sanitation guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • degree from a certified food service program, apprenticeship, culinary school, or equivalent required
  • previous supervisory experience and 5 years' experience as an Executive Chef in a 4-star or 5-star establishment with sizable conference and banqueting facilities
  • ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts
  • experience with new property openings preferred
  • knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, codes, regulations, health, sanitation, licensing ordinances, food products, standard recipes, proper preparation, and kitchen operations
  • proficient use of kitchen tools including knives, slicers, and choppers
  • strong customer service orientation
  • excellent communication skills both orally and in writing
