Operating typically from 6am to 2pm shifts, with rotating weekends and holidays, EVS Associates perform critical housekeeping and cleaning functions following strict protocols and schedules. Their responsibilities extend beyond basic cleaning tasks to preventing cross-contamination, controlling bacteria and odors, and ensuring aseptic conditions throughout patient care areas. This includes proper disposal of biohazards compliant with EPA and OSHA regulations, managing environmental contaminants such as mercury and batteries, and keeping food and loading areas free of debris. The associate is also responsible for maintaining cleaning equipment to present a professional hospital environment, applying personal protective equipment appropriately for handling hazardous substances, and adhering to hand hygiene policies. Safety is paramount, as the associate uses wet floor signs, observes precautions with equipment, and reports any mechanical or electrical issues to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Interaction with patients, visitors, and staff is conducted with professionalism and courtesy to uphold Jefferson's reputation for high standards and compassionate care. Additional duties include assisting with moves, recycling, deliveries, and set-ups upon request.
