The Technician role at Encore is a vital position responsible for the setup, operation, and breakdown of basic and small-scale audiovisual equipment within hospitality settings such as hotels and convention centers. Reporting to Operations Managers or Directors, the Technician ensures flawless event execution by accurately handling all audiovisual needs while maintaining excellent customer service at all stages of an event. This role involves direct interaction with clients, ensuring their audiovisual requirements are met and continuously monitoring equipment during events to preemptively address any technical issues. The Technician plays a key part in upholding the company's reputation by fostering strong client relationships and utilizing floor up-selling techniques to enhance revenue.

In this role, the Technician will demonstrate technical expertise in troubleshooting and resolving equipment or software challenges professionally and efficiently. Responsibilities also include completing system entries, following company processes, and collaborating with vendors and other staff to manage equipment logistics smoothly. This position demands physical stamina as it involves lifting equipment up to 50 pounds and working in various physical postures such as standing, walking, kneeling, and bending. Flexibility in work hours is essential as the role includes irregular schedules with possible evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.

Encore offers a competitive hourly pay range of $14.22 to $18.49 for this position, with compensation influenced by experience, skills, location, and travel requirements. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license if operating company vehicles
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Willingness to complete required training and certifications
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to meet physical demands such as standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to work in hotel/convention center environments with exposure to varying noise levels and outdoor elements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of audiovisual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred
  • Valid driver’s license for team members operating company vehicles
  • Ability to complete required training and certifications within 60 days for external applicants
  • Completion of Encore’s Global Learning Training Program requirements for internal applicants
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic technical troubleshooting skills
