The Event Marketing team at S&P Global Ratings manages an extensive portfolio of more than 600 events annually, ranging from virtual and in-person meetings to large scale conferences with hundreds of attendees. These events are essential to the company’s client outreach and engagement strategies, requiring precision, creativity, and operational excellence. The team works closely with internal stakeholders across Commercial, Analytical, Market Outreach, and Marketing functions to curate impactful experiences that meet client needs and support business goals.

The role of Event Marketing Manager is crucial in leading the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of events across various sectors. This position involves managing both hosted and third-party association events, ensuring seamless communication with clients, speakers, venues, and vendors. You will lead collaborative planning efforts, oversee event logistics and operations, manage event budgets, and ensure strict compliance with legal, health, safety, and insurance standards. Leveraging AI-driven tools and automation platforms is key to optimize scheduling, attendee engagement, and reporting, as well as enhancing the efficiency of event workflows.

This full-time role based in New York offers a competitive salary range of $71,000 to $107,000 USD, commensurate with experience, skills, location, and certifications. Additionally, candidates are eligible for an annual incentive plan that rewards performance. Employees are expected to work a minimum of two days per week onsite, with in-person interview requirements during the hiring process. The position requires candidates to have indefinite right to work in the United States.

The ideal candidate will bring 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in event marketing or integrated event operations. Strong capabilities in managing complex events both virtually and face-to-face, crafting operational templates, and controlling budgets with financial discipline are vital. Effective stakeholder communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and AI tools are also important. Experience with industry-standard event platforms like Cvent, On24, and Salesforce, as well as design tools such as Adobe Suite or Canva, will be advantageous. Familiarity with the financial markets or professional services sectors and knowledge of New York City venues add further value.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with Adobe Suite or Canva preferred
  • Knowledge of New York City venues and experience with venue sourcing preferred

Job Duties

  • Lead collaborative event planning with Commercial, Analytical, Market Outreach, and Marketing stakeholders across assigned sectors
  • Oversee pre- and post-event communications with clients, speakers, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate with venues before and after events to ensure precise and consistent execution
  • Collaborate with global event marketing partners to align best practices and ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health, and safety requirements
  • Manage logistics for events including vendor communication, registration, on-site execution, staffing, attendee tracking, presentation support, and AV specifications
  • Manage event budgets with financial discipline, track and report on event calendar and pipeline
  • Develop repeatable operational templates and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
  • Apply AI-enabled tools, automation platforms, and data analytics to event scheduling, attendee insights, workflow efficiency, and post-event evaluation
