The Event Bartender at Ginger and Baker plays a crucial role in continuing the legacy of superior service and memorable guest experiences that the brand is known for. This position entails being an ambassador for the company’s high standards in hospitality and culinary excellence. The Event Bartender provides outstanding personal attention to guests, making them feel welcome and valued from the moment they arrive. This role demands not only proficiency in mixing and serving cocktails, wine, and beer but also requires a warm, authentic interaction style that encourages repeat business and referrals. Work involves setting up custom bar selections for various event spaces throughout the historic building and delivering prompt, accurate cocktail service during events. The Event Bartender works closely with other team members to support event logistics, including set-up, clean-up, and side-work, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable event experience.

Demands for this role include a flexible schedule that accommodates nights, weekends, holidays, and fluctuating work hours that may be light in some seasons and busy in others. The position requires a candidate who is not only skilled technically but also capable of maintaining a hospitable and calm demeanor under pressure. Safety responsibility is paramount, encompassing adherence to company policies, safe operation of equipment, and thorough reporting of any incidents or hazards. Ginger and Baker provides ongoing training and certification opportunities, including TIPS and Serve Safe, to ensure all staff members meet local health and safety standards. Physical requirements include standing for long periods, frequent walking, handling and lifting objects up to 50 pounds, and other activities necessary to support the high-paced event environment. This role is ideal for experienced bartenders who are passionate about crafting quality beverages and delivering exceptional customer service in a historic and community-focused setting.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older upon employment
  • at least 2 years extensive bartending experience in large volume environments
  • TIPS and Serve Safe certifications or willingness to obtain
  • able to work independently
  • flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand for long periods, walk, use hands and arms, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • reliable and punctual

Job Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age or older upon employment
  • has demonstrated skills, knowledge and competency in the areas of service, mixology, wine and beer
  • at least 2 years extensive bartending experience in large volume environments
  • must be able to work independently
  • present a hospitality mentality - warm and generous, calm under pressure
  • TIPS and Serve Safe certifications (or willing to obtain)

Job Duties

  • Provides attentive and friendly service to customers in events and at bartop
  • fully set for custom bar selections before each event in various locations in the building
  • ability to execute accurate cocktails in a timely manner while engaging with event guests
  • wine, beer and cocktail knowledge
  • takes beverage orders from customers, event servers, and service personnel
  • mixes/follows ingredients/recipes such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks as specified
  • serves wine and draught or bottled beer
  • collects money for drinks and food served
  • operates, balances and reconciles cash till and POS sales
  • restocks to par levels before and after each shift
  • cleans/arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display
  • slices/prepares and pits fruit for garnishing drinks
  • monitors consumption of alcohol by guests
  • maintain clean and sanitary workspace and serving conditions with dated food and beverage items, returning items after service
  • assists event service team in set up, cleanup, side-work, running food, taking orders, etc.
  • performs other reasonable duties as requested by management
