Job Description
Jefferson Health is a nationally recognized healthcare organization principally located in the greater Philadelphia region with extensions into Lehigh Valley, Northeastern Pennsylvania, and southern New Jersey. It is an integrated health system that combines Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health to create a comprehensive healthcare network. Thomas Jefferson University, founded in 1824, is home to several colleges including Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Jefferson College of Nursing, and the Kanbar College of Design, Engineering and Commerce. These institutions together offer a wide array of educational programs supporting over 8,300 students, emphasizing a blend of health care excellence, education, research, and community service.
Jefferson Health ranks among the top 15 not-for-profit healthcare systems nationally and is the largest provider in its service areas. With 32 hospital campuses and more than 700 outpatient and urgent care locations, Jefferson Health serves millions of patients each year. Its managed care organization, Jefferson Health Plans, has provided health coverage options in Pennsylvania and New Jersey for over 35 years. The system is dedicated to improving community health, supporting professional development, and advancing clinical research, with a strong commitment to equal employment and educational opportunities.
The Environmental Services Worker role at Lansdale Hospital, part of Jefferson Health, is vital for maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of hospital environments. The worker supports the Environmental Services Supervisor by performing daily cleaning tasks and managing the distribution of necessary supplies to assigned areas. The position requires the individual to greet patients and visitors with courtesy, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment that contributes to patient satisfaction. The worker’s responsibilities include adhering to the hospital’s policies and procedures to maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control.
This role is ideal for individuals who pay careful attention to detail and have good communication and customer service skills. Although previous housekeeping experience is beneficial, it is not required, making this a suitable opportunity for entry-level candidates. The role demands flexibility as it includes biweekly weekend and rotating holiday shifts. Working in this role supports the overall patient experience by providing a clean and safe environment, which is critical in a healthcare setting.
This employment opportunity at Lansdale Hospital is a regular, full-time position working day and evening shifts. The employee receives access to a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, tuition assistance, and voluntary benefits. This reinforces Jefferson Health’s commitment to its employees’ well-being and professional growth.
