Job Description
JOEY Restaurants is a renowned restaurant group dedicated to delivering an ultimate dining experience characterized by handcrafted, locally and globally inspired menu offerings. Established in 1992, JOEY has evolved into an iconic multi-concept brand with over 50 locations across Canada and the United States, continuing to expand its footprint through 2030. Family-owned and operated, JOEY emphasizes a warm, inclusive, and creative environment where employees receive comprehensive training and development opportunities to grow and excel in their careers. The company believes in empowering its workforce, fostering genuine warmth and care as foundational values that influence every aspect of its service and operations.
The Dishwasher position at JOEY is a critical role within the kitchen team, designed to uphold JOEY’s reputation for cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. This role directly impacts the overall guest experience by maintaining a spotless dining and kitchen environment, ensuring all kitchenware is sanitized according to food safety standards, and supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen during busy service periods. The role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring candidates to be efficient, detail-oriented, and proactive in anticipating the needs of their team. The position offers an hourly wage range from $16.90 to $30.00, with additional eligibility to participate in the company’s tip pool, where average tip earnings range typically between $3.00 and $6.00 per hour. This opportunity not only provides financial earning potential but also a pathway for growth; notably, the company’s CEO, Jeff Fuller, began his career journey as a dishwasher, illustrating the potential for career development within the organization.
Dishwashers at JOEY play an integral role in maintaining the pristine condition of dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, and pans through systematic cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing. They are responsible for monitoring dish machine operations, ensuring that wash and rinse cycles meet temperature and sanitizer ppm requirements in strict compliance with health regulations. The position involves regular physical activity including prolonged standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The Dishwasher supports not only cleanliness but also the safety and health standards within the kitchen environment by following detailed sanitation practices and safety protocols.
The work environment is dynamic and demanding, requiring strong teamwork, attention to detail, and genuine passion for hospitality. JOEY’s culture prioritizes integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to exceptional guest service, making this role ideal for individuals who are eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team dynamic while growing their own skills in the restaurant industry. The company also offers a range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid sick leave, and employee discounts, supporting the physical and financial well-being of its employees.
Overall, the Dishwasher role at JOEY Restaurants is more than just a cleaning position; it is a foundational job within a respected restaurant group that values its people, encourages professional growth, and creates memorable dining experiences. Candidates looking to start or build a career in hospitality will find an inclusive and opportunity-rich environment here, with a clear path for advancement and a supportive company culture that celebrates genuine warmth and care across all levels of the organization.
