Job Description
Keeneland Hospitality is a distinguished leader in the food and beverage sector, operating within one of the most prestigious and renowned horse racing establishments in the United States. Located in Lexington, Kentucky, Keeneland is celebrated not only for its famed horse racing events but also for its exceptional dining experiences. As a company committed to excellence, Keeneland Hospitality is dedicated to providing high-quality service during major horse racing events, corporate gatherings, and luxurious dining occasions. The workplace operates in a fast-paced environment that demands efficiency, teamwork, and meticulous attention to detail to ensure every guest receives an outstanding experience.
The role of a dishwasher at Keeneland Hospitality is integral to maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen utensils, dishware, and workspaces. This position supports the overall operation by ensuring that all kitchen essentials are clean, organized, and readily accessible during peak events and daily service. The dishwasher helps uphold Keeneland's high standards by operating commercial dishwashing equipment or performing manual washing to handle a high volume of pots, pans, plates, glasses, and silverware. This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work in a dynamic environment, stay on one’s feet for extended periods, and follow strict safety and sanitation protocols.
In addition to ensuring cleanliness, the dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the kitchen and dishwashing areas, including floors, sinks, and shelves. This attention to detail helps create a safe and organized workspace for chefs and service staff. The dishwasher also replenishes dishwasher supplies such as detergents and sanitizers and handles waste disposal in a timely and sanitary manner. There is the opportunity to assist with basic food preparation and kitchen cleaning during slower periods, providing further support to the culinary team.
Keeneland Hospitality offers a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and extended race days, adapting to the fluctuating needs of their busy event calendar. Compliance with local health regulations is mandatory, including obtaining a valid Food Handler's License from Fayette County or equivalent certification such as ServSafe before the first scheduled shift. Employees will also receive a Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license as a requirement for working on-site during race days.
This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment and have a strong work ethic and willingness to contribute to the success of a premium hospitality operation. Keeneland Hospitality values employees who demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and dedication to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and service. In joining Keeneland as a dishwasher, employees become part of a historic and vibrant community passionate about horse racing and exceptional guest service.
