Job Description

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) has a rich heritage spanning over 75 years, dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ worldwide. Established as a Christian ministry organization, BGEA operates through various ministries and facilities, including its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Billy Graham Library, the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove (BGTC) in Asheville, North Carolina, and Blue Ridge Broadcasting in Asheville, as well as field offices abroad. This diverse network of locations and ministries collaborates to fulfill BGEA's mission to evangelize and support the global body of Christ. As a faith-driven organization, BGEA commits itself to Christian principles, emphasizing servant leadership, biblical truth, and the active sharing of the Gospel in all aspects of its work.

The Food Services Department at The Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove upholds the high standard of servant hospitality and food service that embodies the spirit of Christian service and care. This department plays a pivotal role by preparing and serving food for both BGEA employees and guests attending events, banquets, and daily meal services. This role is critical to ensuring a warm, welcoming environment where guests experience hospitality that reflects the grace and love of Christ.

The position available within the Food Services Department focuses on assisting in both dining room and kitchen operations. The role involves maintaining cleanliness, supporting the setup and breakdown of dining events, and ensuring dishes, pots, and pans are properly cleaned. The individual will work alongside a dedicated team to efficiently manage food service tasks, contribute to food preparation when needed, and operate kitchen equipment as assigned. This position requires a flexible schedule, including availability during evenings and weekends. Working under pressure to meet meal deadlines is a key aspect, and the physical demands of the job include consistent mobility, bending, stretching, and lifting.

More importantly, this role is more than just a food service position; it is a ministry opportunity. All employees at BGEA, including those in Food Services, are called to maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and to faithfully uphold BGEA’s mission through prayer, daily staff devotions, and living out Christian virtues. The spiritual atmosphere permeates the work environment, making it a unique place where an employee's faith and work purpose are intertwined. Working for BGEA means joining a team that not only serves meals but also serves the Kingdom, representing Christ in every interaction with guests and coworkers.

This full-time or part-time position at BGEA offers a meaningful way to use one’s skills in service and hospitality to contribute to a larger spiritual mission. It invites a committed Christian who is ready to be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ and aligns with BGEA’s Statement of Faith. This role is ideal for those who thrive in team-oriented environments, desire to grow spiritually, and have a heart for serving others through practical acts of hospitality. If you feel called to ministry and want to be part of an organization that extends the evangelistic work of the late Billy Graham, this opportunity may be the perfect fit. Join BGEA in its continuing work to proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth, ensuring every guest feels loved and cared for through exceptional food service ministry.
