Job Description
Resident Coffee is a unique coffee roasting and cafe establishment located in Gainesville, Florida. Established with a mission to tell the stories of incredible coffee and the remarkable people involved along the way, Resident Coffee has grown from a passionate roastery to a welcoming community cafe. Situated at 4401 NW 25th Place, the company prides itself on its transparency, intentional sourcing, and commitment to quality coffee from trusted partners around the world. The business supports sustainable relationships with coffee producers and emphasizes local engagement by creating a meaningful connection with customers and community members alike.
Opening its first cafe in May of last year, Resident Coffee now operates a 3,500-square-foot space that features a full kitchen alongside a meticulously designed coffee bar. The cafe serves as a vibrant community hub where the art of great food and exceptional coffee intersect. Their food program is an extension of their core values, inspired by Hispanic influences and rooted in locally sourced ingredients and sustainable practices. The establishment focuses on high-quality, better ingredient choices to preserve the integrity of their offerings while fostering a welcoming, detail-oriented atmosphere.
The role of Dishwasher / Support at Resident Coffee is integral to maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen and service areas. This position requires keeping these spaces clean, organized, and well-stocked to support both front-of-house and back-of-house teams. Candidates for this role will be responsible for washing dishes and cookware, bussing tables, restocking dishware, and assisting the kitchen team with various tasks during less busy times.
A successful dishwasher at Resident Coffee is someone who is reliable, detail-focused, and able to work quickly both independently and as part of a cohesive team. This role demands a commitment to upholding health and safety standards and flexibility to jump in wherever help is needed during service periods. Weekend availability, particularly on both Saturday and Sunday, is mandatory to meet the cafe's busy schedule.
Compensation for this position starts at $14.00 per hour plus back-of-house (BOH) tips that average an additional $2 per hour. After a 90-day training period, the rate increases to $14.50 per hour plus tips, with a subsequent increase to $15.00 per hour plus tips after six months. This transparent pay structure is designed to reward dedication and skill development, ensuring that the person in this vital role feels valued and appreciated within the Resident Coffee community.
By joining Resident Coffee as a Dishwasher / Support team member, you become part of a passionate, small team devoted to crafting memorable coffee experiences and fostering community connections. The role offers a chance to contribute behind the scenes to the overall guest experience, playing a crucial part in the day-to-day operations of a growing, people-focused coffee company.
