The Dishwasher role at Bi-Rite Market is an essential part of creating a welcoming and inspiring experience for all guests. With a starting wage of $20.50 per hour, this position is a critical team member contributing to the smooth and seamless operation of the store. The Dishwasher is responsible not only for maintaining cleanliness by washing and properly storing dishes, kitchen utensils, and equipment, but also supports kitchen preparations according to Bi-Rite’s high standards of quality and consistency. Responsibilities include organizing inventory in refrigerated cases, backstock, and receiving areas, ensuring proper rotation and safe handling of perishable items, and managing spoilage in line with department standards. This role plays a vital part in upholding the product quality, controlling waste, and maintaining the efficiency of equipment and facilities.

Job Qualifications
- Previous back of the house or food service experience recommended
- ServSafe Certification, California Food Handler card is required within 30 days post-hire
- Continuous standing and carrying between 11-50+ pounds
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Job Duties
- Responsible for washing and putting away all dishes, kitchen utensils, and equipment
- Assists with the preparation of kitchen menu offerings, following recipes, cut specification and packaging to Bi-Rite standards
- Receives, organizes and stocks all inventory in the refrigerated cases, backstock, and receiving areas
- Keeps the department neat, clean, accurately labeled, and well-stocked
- Puts away inventory, paying close attention to proper rotation, accurate labeling, while handling perishable items safely
- Handles damaged, out-of-date, spoils, and returned products to department standards
