Job Requirements

  • Food Handlers certification from local health department
  • Some high school education
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environments
  • Ability to safely lift heavy items
  • Willingness to pass pre-employment physical, physical abilities test, drug screen and criminal background check
  • Availability to work part-time, 30 hours weekly

Job Qualifications

  • Food Handlers certification from local health department

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to work in physically demanding conditions

Job Duties

  • Provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors
  • Load, run and unload the dish machine
  • Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
  • Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
  • Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes or silverware
  • Keep dish room clean and organized
  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
  • Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designated times
  • Safely lift bags, cases and stacks
  • Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
  • Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
  • Clean food preparation and production areas as required
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operation
  • Work in standing position in hot, wet, humid and loud environments
  • Follow highest standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Report any safety hazards and accidents to supervisor
  • Follow department safety standards and participate in safety programs
  • Attend all mandatory in-service meetings
  • Comply with all department and facility policies and procedures
  • Understand and follow fire and disaster plans during drills and emergencies
