Job Description
Restaurant Brands International Inc. (RBI) stands as one of the world’s largest quick service restaurant companies, renowned for its impressive global footprint with nearly $45 billion in annual system-wide sales and over 32,000 restaurants spread across more than 120 countries and territories. RBI is the proud owner of four iconic and independently operated quick service restaurant brands: TIM HORTONS®, BURGER KING®, POPEYES®, and FIREHOUSE SUBS®. Each brand has built a strong legacy of serving its customers, franchisees, and communities for decades, backed by core values that emphasize quality, innovation, and community support. Through its Restaurant Brands for Good framework, RBI actively pursues sustainable outcomes that positively impact food quality, the environment, and the people and communities connected to its business.
The Director, Restaurant Technology position focuses specifically on technology solutions for Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen (PLK) Americas. This leadership role is critical in steering the strategic alignment, architecture, and execution of technological initiatives designed to enhance the operational capabilities of Popeyes restaurants. The person in this role will be responsible for designing innovative technical solutions that align with the broader organizational goals and meet the unique needs of Popeyes’ quick service restaurant environment.
As a pivotal member of the technology leadership team, the Director will collaborate closely with diverse cross-functional digital and technical groups to define and implement comprehensive technology strategies spanning Point of Sale (POS), Back of House, and digital technologies. The role demands oversight of technology initiatives from conception through deployment, ensuring that all projects adhere to high standards of quality and performance. Vendor and partner relationships will also be managed to foster the development of modern, scalable, and innovative technology architectures conducive to continuous improvement.
RBI emphasizes collaboration and innovation, necessitating that the Director be comfortable working onsite in Miami, FL, supporting a five-day in-office workweek to maximize teamwork and communication effectiveness. The role also involves maintaining and reporting on a portfolio of technology projects, providing updates and insights to executive leadership, and ensuring proper handoff through all lifecycle phases — from design and build to quality assurance and deployment.
Candidates for this role are expected to have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in designing, developing, and supporting hardware, software, and network technology solutions within dynamic and fast-paced environments. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is required. Experience managing multi-disciplinary project portfolios and working with restaurant or retail technology platforms such as POS, labor scheduling tools, and back-of-house systems is highly valued. Strong leadership skills and excellent communication abilities are essential qualities, as is a relentless drive for innovation and a hands-on, detail-oriented approach. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in the restaurant industry.
RBI’s commitment to its employees extends beyond the workplace, with unique and progressive benefits that support physical, mental, and financial wellness, including a comprehensive global paid parental leave program and access to telemedicine and mental wellness resources. RBI fosters an inclusive and diverse workplace and is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to non-discrimination and accommodation for applicants with disabilities.
