The role of Culinary Services Manager at Provincial Senior Living is full-time, scheduled Sunday through Thursday, and plays a vital hands-on role in overseeing all kitchen and dining operations within the independent senior living community. This role is not only about managing the day-to-day operations but also about leading a team dedicated to delivering an exceptional dining experience tailored to the residents’ unique needs and preferences. The Culinary Services Manager is responsible for daily meal preparation and food service management, ensuring high-quality, safe, and appealing meals are served consistently.

In this capacity, the Culinary Services Manager will develop and implement food service policies, procedures, and job descriptions that align with the company’s standards for excellence. They will plan menus and meal cycles that reflect residents’ cultural preferences, dietary restrictions, and nutritional guidelines while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and food quality standards. Monitoring food quality, temperature, portion control, and presentation standards is essential to maintain the trusted reputation of Provincial Senior Living’s culinary services.

Moreover, the Culinary Services Manager will directly support and oversee kitchen staff in food preparation, portioning, and service execution, stepping in to prepare meals and assist with daily kitchen operations as needed to maintain smooth functioning. The role also includes managing supply chains by ordering food and chemical supplies, verifying deliveries, maintaining food inventory, and conducting monthly audits. Regular quality assurance checks are part of the responsibility to guarantee exceptional food safety and sanitary practices.

In addition, the Culinary Services Manager manages vendor relationships, oversees food service agreements, and supports the scheduling, onboarding, and training of kitchen staff to foster a cohesive and skilled team environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • bachelor’s or associate’s degree in culinary arts preferred
  • minimum of 5 years of food service management experience
  • completed food safety training
  • excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • strong communication and leadership skills
  • ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
