Job Description
McLane is a leading supply chain services company with a rich history dating back to 1894. With over 130 years of experience, McLane has established itself as a premier distributor serving restaurant, retail, and e-commerce industries nationwide. The company prides itself on its extensive network of team members who contribute to its agility and success. McLane’s culture centers on people, continuously embracing the latest technology, prioritizing employee training, and fostering a collaborative environment. This people-focused approach ensures that employees are supported, skilled, and valued as integral parts of the company’s growth and operational excellence.
As a Delivery Assistant at McLane, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery driver to ensure the seamless and timely distribution of products. This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift, bend, and move items throughout the workday. Although you will not be operating the delivery truck, your efforts will be key to maintaining high standards of customer service and project completion. Delivery Assistants are considered the face of McLane to clients, where friendly and professional interactions are essential. This role provides an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and advance your career within a well-respected industry leader.
The job involves manual handling of products and pallets, safe movement of goods using equipment like hand trucks and dollies, and placing items accurately in designated food-safe storage areas. The position demands careful adherence to safety protocols to prevent injuries and product damage. McLane offers benefits that begin early, including medical, dental, vision insurance, and company-paid life insurance. Employees accrue vacation and sick leave from the start, with paid holidays and a 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan available after short periods of employment. Additional perks include pet insurance, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and employee assistance programs.
Joining McLane means working at a company that values adaptability, dedication, reliability, and safety. Team members are supported through ongoing training and are part of a nationwide network that drives the distribution industry forward. The company maintains a commitment to diversity and inclusion across all hiring practices. Candidates for this role should be prepared for background and drug screening aligned with federal and state regulations. McLane invites motivated individuals who are safety-minded and hardworking to apply and become part of a legacy that continues to innovate and lead in supply chain solutions.
