Job Requirements

  • Be between the ages of 17-40
  • be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • possess a high school diploma or GED
  • submit to background and medical screening
  • receive a passing score on the ASVAB
  • be physically capable of completing Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training

Job Qualifications

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED
  • demonstrate interest in cooking, home economics, health, mathematics, accounting, and chemistry
  • successfully complete Basic Combat Training
  • complete Advanced Individual Training including on-the-job culinary instruction
  • be able to work effectively in both team and independent settings
  • show ability to follow detailed recipes and maintain food safety standards

Job Duties

  • Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam, and saute as prescribed by Army recipes
  • operate, maintain, and clean field kitchen equipment
  • perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment
  • prepare and service meals in both field and home station environments
  • inspect and order food supplies
  • maintain kitchen safety and sanitation standards
  • collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation
