The role of Culinary Lead at Sur La Table is central to the success and daily operations of each store. They work closely with store leadership to increase foot traffic through classes and special events, manage inventory and kitchen safety, and ensure compliance with food safety and local health codes. The role expects adaptability, as workweeks typically range from 20 to 25 hours, including nights, weekends, and holiday shifts, emphasizing flexibility and commitment to customer experience excellence.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years kitchen management experience
- Valid Food Manager Certification
- Must be 21 years or older
- Ability to stand for up to 4 hours
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to coach and lead a team
- Ability to comply with food safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older
- Degree in culinary arts preferred or extensive culinary experience
- 1-2 years of kitchen management experience
- Valid Food Manager Certification
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Passion for community engagement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred
