Located in Dallas, TX, the Airgas retail shop on Joe Field Rd is currently seeking a motivated Counter Sales Associate to join its dynamic team. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in high-energy customer interaction and are passionate about providing operational support within an industrial environment. The position offers hourly pay along with additional bonus opportunities, and the work schedule is Monday through Friday with no weekend shifts, supporting a healthy work-life balance. Employees are also provided personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.

As a Counter Sales Associate at Airgas, you will act as a trusted advisor to customers, assisting them with the selection of industrial gases, welding equipment, and other related supplies essential to their projects. Your expertise will guide customers in choosing the best tools and materials, demonstrating equipment use when needed, and offering valuable insights about product quality and applications. This role involves maintaining long-term customer relationships through excellent service, managing transactions, completing paperwork accurately, and coordinating logistics such as merchandise transfers and cylinder movements.

Job Requirements

  • minimum of 2 plus years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments

Job Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 2 plus years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments

  • experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus
  • attention to detail in handling transactions
  • availability for occasional overtime when needed

  • background in gas, welding, or safety supplies is a wonderful asset
  • familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office applications
  • detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities
  • ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds

Job Duties

  • Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment to ensure a secure environment for everyone
  • provides excellent customer service to both internal and external partners, fostering understanding and long-term relationships
  • ensures all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing
  • partners with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their specific tasks
  • demonstrates equipment use to build customer confidence
  • manages order entry and processes transactions
  • assists the team with the reconciliation of deposits
  • coordinates via phone, e-mail, and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery
  • contributes to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and success of the branch
  • coordinates the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs
  • maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive manner with customers, vendors, and colleagues
  • stocks shelves and maintains welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience
  • coordinates cylinder movement and pallet organization
