Job Requirements
- Five plus years of progressive back-of-house food service management experience
- Two plus years of multi-unit, multi-venue food service management experience
- Experience managing multi-state territories preferred
- Three plus years of fiscal responsibility for culinary operations including P&L or management fee contracts
- ServSafe Manager certification required
- Ability to travel extensively approximately 80 percent of the month including overnight stays and multiple state visits
- Ability to lift weights over twenty-five pounds occasionally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to participate in client-facing and teaching engagements
Job Qualifications
- Diverse culinary experience including fine dining, high-volume restaurants, offsite catering, resorts and catering
- Five plus years of progressive back-of-house food service management experience
- Two plus years in multi-unit, multi-venue settings
- Experience managing multi-state territories preferred
- Three plus years of full fiscal responsibility for culinary operations including P&L or management fee contracts
- Culinary experience in Senior Living or Continuing Care Retirement Communities preferred
- Familiarity with menu management technology and food planning
- Intermediate to high expertise in teaching and public speaking
- ServSafe Manager certification required
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Certified Executive Chef (CEC) preferred
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in Culinary Arts preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Job Duties
- Generate enthusiasm throughout culinary, service and leadership teams to identify opportunities for improvement and to deliver best-in-class experiences for residents, patients, guests and clients
- Mentor and develop talent by providing positive, hands-on, shoulder-to-shoulder leadership
- Recruit, interview, test and onboard culinarians to build a strong talent pool
- Establish cross-functional leadership relationships with operations, marketing, nutrition, finance and support teams
- Lead culinary strategy development and deployment for designated Priority Accounts
- Develop performance driven relationships with clients and employee teams through communication and follow-up
- Participate in quarterly and annual business reviews and client social engagements
- Maintain reports on client community performance, talent observations, trends, and growth opportunities
- Conduct planned site visits with operations leaders, document findings and chart next steps
- Collaborate through calls to activate long-term improvements
- Lead new business touring, scoping, culinary planning and launch activities
- Implement client improvement plans to support retention
- Guide regionalization and consistent menu use to meet business and budget expectations
- Ensure communities meet regulatory inspection requirements with excellent scores
- Participate in networking and showcase events such as client anniversaries and Compass Group signature events
