The role of a Cook Supervisor at Compass Group is more than just a cooking position. It is a leadership role that requires hands-on supervision of food-service associates, ensuring the execution of policies, procedures, and compliance with applicable laws. The Cook Supervisor will work a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, and will be compensated with a fixed pay rate of $20.00 per hour. Additional benefits include free meals, uniforms, and laundering services available at select locations.
As a Cook Supervisor, you will be responsible for training employees, planning and assigning work, directing tasks, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, and resolving any workplace complaints or problems. You will play a vital role in advising management on purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and preventing product shortages. Your culinary expertise will be essential in using approved food recipes and production standards to ensure the highest quality, proper serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
The position demands safe operation and cleaning of equipment following department procedures, proper storage and labeling of food items according to policy, and maintaining food rotations to minimize spoilage and waste. Adherence to HACCP guidelines is critical to ensure the food supply's quality and safety. The Cook Supervisor will also remain present during scheduled meal periods to assist in serving meals and to receive direct customer feedback.
