Job Requirements

  • High school education required
  • At least one year kitchen or prep experience or one year of culinary school required
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items

Job Qualifications

  • High school education required
  • At least one year kitchen or prep experience or one year of culinary school required
  • Customer service experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
  • Maintain and strictly abide by State sanitation, health regulations and Hotel requirements
  • Meet with Head Cook and Sous Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to job performance
  • Perform opening shift duties including turning on specified equipment, filling steam table and unlocking secured areas
  • Start and organize prep work for menu items
  • Continue prep work after meal periods for the next meal service
  • Check P.O.S. printer and ensure it is operational and stocked
  • Prepare menu items following recipes and yield guides
  • Inform Sous Chef of any shortages before items run out
  • Communicate assistance needs during busy periods to Sous Chef
  • Inform Head Cook of excess items for daily specials
  • Maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and Hotel requirements
  • Minimize waste and maintain controls to meet forecasted food cost
  • Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables
  • Transport empty, dirty pots and pans to pot wash station
