Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years of professional cooking experience
- Ability to plan and organize work
- Ability to interpret instructions and recipes
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
- Basic understanding of nutrition and diet
- Proficiency in English communication
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic including measurements and conversions
- Compliance with hygiene and dress code standards
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution
- Ability to plan and organize work effectively
- Ability to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards correctly
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
- Basic knowledge of nutrition and diet
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understanding of measurements and conversions
Job Duties
- Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders
- Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, ensuring excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food
- Determines the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and obtains supplies from storage in adequate time for meal production
- Maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition
- Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code
- Coordinates with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service
- Assists with inventory control and kitchen equipment maintenance
