Job Description
Baker Botts is a leading international full-service law firm renowned for its deep industry knowledge and comprehensive legal expertise. Established with a commitment to providing top-tier legal services, the firm operates across multiple major cities, including Washington, DC, New York, and Dallas. Known for fostering a dynamic and inclusive work culture, Baker Botts emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and client-centric solutions. The firm serves a diverse client base, offering specialized legal guidance across various practice areas, which positions it as a trusted partner in the professional services sector. Employees benefit from robust development opportunities and a supportive environment that encourages personal and professional growth.
The Client Development Senior Coordinator role within Baker Botts is a critical position designed to support the Intellectual Property practice group. This mid-level, full-time, exempt position operates on a hybrid model, requiring at least three days per week in the office located in any of the firm’s core offices – Washington, DC, New York, or Dallas. The successful candidate will be joining an engaged Client Development team responsible for driving business growth through strategic marketing initiatives and relationship management.
In this role, the coordinator will extensively collaborate with attorneys, firm leadership, and marketing professionals to craft compelling business development materials. Responsibilities include developing pitch materials, formal responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), brochures, thought leadership content, invitations, and relevant website materials targeting the Intellectual Property practice's clientele. A significant aspect of the role involves identifying marketing opportunities specific to Intellectual Property, refreshing content to meet client demands, and supporting external communications such as survey and award submissions for prestigious legal publications like Chambers, The Legal 500, and Law360.
The coordinator will also play a pivotal role in event management—planning client seminars, coordinating speaking engagements, managing conference sponsorships, and ensuring seamless internal and external communication channels. By collaborating closely with competitive intelligence teams, the coordinator supports market research efforts and client meeting strategies. The position demands strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Candidates must bring a combination of strategic thinking, creativity, and a proactive mindset to this role, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with legal professionals at all levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with marketing and client relationship management software are important, with additional familiarity in tools such as Vuture, Foundation, PitchPerfect, and various AI platforms being advantageous.
Baker Botts offers a competitive salary range, varying by office location—from $96,000 to $115,000 annually—alongside comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development support. This position not only promises a rewarding career path within a prestigious firm but also an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth and visibility of a key practice area within one of the legal industry’s most respected firms.
