Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred within culinary field
  • Meet minimum state educational requirements plus one year related job experience
  • Experience teaching and classroom management preferred
  • Experience working with adults with disabilities preferred
  • Experience in culinary industry kitchen preferred
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and successful level II background check, physical and drug screen
  • Must be 21 years or older

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred with credentials in culinary related field
  • Meet minimum state (FLDOE/CIE) educational requirements plus one year job experience related to content taught
  • Experience demonstrating teaching and classroom management skills preferred
  • Experience working with adults with disabilities preferred
  • Experience in culinary industry kitchen preferred
  • Valid FL driver’s license
  • Must be 21 years or older

Job Duties

  • Educate participants enrolled in the 420 hour Entry-Level Culinary Arts Certificate program
  • Prepare relevant assignments, document student progress, accountability, and issues
  • Utilize lesson plans and activities for each class within the established and approved curriculum
  • Teach entry-level culinary arts curriculum focusing on general food preparation skills and techniques including basic knife skills, setup, operation, and cleanup of a commercial food service kitchen
  • Teach about various support positions within the food service industry
  • Administer assessments, assign homework, and monitor lab participation
