Job Description

The University of San Diego is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Chef de Cuisine to manage and oversee all culinary operations for the Residential Dining Operation. This role involves organizing, coordinating, and supervising food production, maintaining quality standards, ensuring sanitation and safety compliance, and training and evaluating kitchen staff. The Chef de Cuisine will also assist in purchasing, recipe and product development, and contribute to the development of departmental goals.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Culinary Arts or Bachelor's degree in institutional management, nutrition, dietetics, or hotel and restaurant management required
  • at least 4 years of culinary/food service experience required
  • at least 5+ years of supervisory experience in a high-volume food production environment required
  • proven track record in cost control and budget management required
  • ability to work flexible and demanding hours required.
