Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Services Management, Dietetics, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field and two years of related experience or a combination of education and experience
  • Must be Serv-Safe certified
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions
  • Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Services Management, Dietetics, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field
  • Two years of related culinary experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Serv-Safe certification
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with menu development and culinary supervision
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
  • Ability to manage budgets and inventory operations
  • Preferred previous experience in higher education food service settings

Job Duties

  • Oversee culinary operations for all on-campus and off-campus catered events
  • Plan and execute creative, high-quality menus reflecting diverse university community needs
  • Supervise kitchen staff ensuring food safety and efficient preparation
  • Manage Cloud Kitchen, including staff interviews, dish pricing, and assignment of responsibilities
  • Ensure proper cleaning, maintenance, and quality control of kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Lead and motivate kitchen team to maintain high performance and service standards
  • Assist in menu development, recipe testing, and evaluation for catering and retail food operations
  • Oversee ordering, purchasing, receiving, and inventory management
  • Maintain records and computer input for food production, catering events, and budgets
  • Conduct staff evaluations and lead personnel actions including coaching and discipline
  • Supervise training programs and ensure compliance with sanitation and quality control
  • Collaborate with dietitians for proper labeling and addressing allergy and dietetic concerns
  • Submit work orders for facilities and kitchen equipment maintenance
