Operating as a comprehensive health system, Banner Health serves numerous communities with a range of medical specialties and cutting-edge treatments. Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, part of this expansive network, stands out as a nationally recognized academic medical center with a Level 1 Trauma designation. It collaborates closely with the University of Arizona College of Medicine to promote medical research, advanced clinical care, and educational excellence. This facility boasts over 730 licensed beds and diverse specialized units, underscoring its leadership in healthcare innovation and patient-centered care.
Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is actively seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join its esteemed Labor and Delivery Unit. This role is central to delivering high-quality and compassionate care to patients and families during labor and delivery. The position is full-time with day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, featuring an attractive compensation package that includes an 18% night shift differential and an additional $1 per hour weekend shift differential. Licensed CNAs/LNAs are also eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus, reflecting the facility’s commitment to rewarding valuable clinical staff. The Labor and Delivery Unit encompasses a 20-bed L&D area, a 4-bed post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), four operating rooms, and a 12-bed obstetrics triage unit, making it a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
In this critical role, the Patient Care Assistant collaborates closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to support daily patient care activities. Responsibilities include assisting patients with daily living tasks such as hygiene, mobility, and nutrition, as well as performing vital signs collection, specimen transportation, and documentation. The PCA is trained to recognize and report patient changes promptly to licensed professionals, aiding in the continuity of care. The unit is accredited by the Arizona Perinatal Trust as a Level III Center, indicating its capability to care for high-risk obstetric patients, including specialized programs for higher-order multiples and placenta accreta management.
Working at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix means being part of a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering safe, evidence-based care using state-of-the-art medical technology. The institution supports professional growth, offering advanced training opportunities and utilizing self-scheduling tools for shift and weekend coverage flexibility.
