The role of Catering Service Worker Lead at Aramark is a crucial supervisory position responsible for planning and managing catering events in both central and satellite locations. This role ensures adherence to Aramark's high brand standards and operational initiatives, impacting events of various sizes and complexity. The Catering Service Worker Lead plays a pivotal role in developing and maintaining a culture of safety, guaranteeing a work environment free from injuries. Core responsibilities include direct supervision of catering operations such as coordinating staff, managing rental equipment, and overseeing event logistics from setup through service to breakdown. This position also involves event booking, menu selection, pricing, and cost estimation to support seamless operations and customer satisfaction.

In addition to operational oversight, the lead is involved in several human resource functions such as hiring assistance, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations. Collaboration is key in this role, requiring coordination with internal departments, participation in management meetings, and interfacing with vendors and clients. Representing Aramark professionally at all external events ensures strong customer relations and brand reputation. The Catering Service Worker Lead is also tasked with ensuring sanitation, organizational, and safety standards are met consistently using checklists and direct supervision.

Training and development are integral facets of this role. The lead participates in all catering training programs and helps develop training initiatives tailored for hourly, part-time, and student employees. Additionally, the leader supports the implementation and adherence to Aramark’s OpX Catering initiatives and guidelines, embracing continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery. This position may entail physical demands such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing, and may require wearing uniforms and personal protective equipment. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years operational experience in a hotel/banquet setting
  • prior experience with booking of events preferred
  • physical capability for lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment
  • ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • flexible to adapt to changing job duties

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Develops and is accountable for a safety culture that creates a work environment where no one gets hurt
  • directly supervises catering operations including coordination of staff and rental equipment, setup, preparation, service, and breakdown of catered foods, beverages, and events of varying size and complexity
  • booking of events, selecting and costing menu items, and pricing as needed
  • assists with hiring, discipline, and performance reviews
  • coordinates activities with other internal departments, participates in management team meetings, interfaces with vendors and key service users within client organization
  • facilitates external customer relations and represents Aramark and the client at meetings and events
  • ensures appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met through checklists, supervision, and follow-up
  • participates in all catering training programs and helps develop and implement training for hourly, part-time, and student employees
  • aids in implementation and adherence to all Aramark OpX Catering initiatives and guidelines
