Job Description
Sodexo Corporate Services is a global leader in integrated facilities management and food service solutions, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and well-being of the communities it serves. With a presence spanning multiple countries, Sodexo partners with various businesses and organizations to provide exceptional hospitality services including catering, food service management, and facilities management. The company’s core mission revolves around creating a better everyday experience for its clients and employees alike by fostering innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability in its operations. Known for its commitment to diversity and inclusion as well as its dedication to professional growth, Sodexo provides a supportive workplace culture where employees are valued and respected for their unique contributions. The opportunity to work at Sodexo means being part of a forward-thinking organization that values creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement in delivering superior service.
At Sodexo’s prestigious Synchrony Headquarters in Stamford, CT, the company is seeking an adaptable and innovative Catering Executive Chef. This role offers a distinct blend of challenges and rewards, uniquely combining high-volume catering expertise with the finesse required for elevated, personalized dining experiences. As a Catering Executive Chef, you will be at the forefront of delivering culinary excellence across a wide array of events ranging from large-scale corporate functions to intimate, bespoke dinners. Unlike traditional catering positions, this role emphasizes creativity and engagement, providing the chance to design seasonal menus, lead interactive cooking classes, and showcase culinary skills in a high-visibility corporate setting.
Working hours are typically from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with flexibility needed for occasional evenings and rare weekends. This position involves collaborating closely with the Executive Chef (EC3), ensuring that every event meets Sodexo’s high standards for quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for managing catering production, overseeing inventory and ordering, and mentoring a small culinary team. The role’s variety and visibility enable you to impact executive-level client experiences directly, making it exciting for chefs passionate about both operational efficiency and culinary creativity.
In this role, you will execute a diverse range of catering events including high-volume functions with up to 250 guests, upscale corporate luncheons, and private dinners featuring multi-course dining for as few as two guests. You will also contribute to Sodexo’s innovative culinary culture by conducting cooking demonstrations and interactive classes, adding a dynamic and educational dimension to the hospitality experience. Sodexo values the role of this position in enhancing client relationships through exceptional service and inventive cuisine.
The company offers competitive compensation tailored to each candidate based on their education, experience, and skill set, supplemented by a comprehensive benefits package. Sodexo’s commitment to employee well-being and career advancement is evident through programs like tuition reimbursement, wellness initiatives, and opportunities for growth within the organization. Joining Sodexo means becoming part of a team that not only values individual talent but also embraces a mission to make a positive social and environmental impact in the communities served.
Candidates interested in this role should be chefs who thrive in dynamic environments requiring flexibility and innovation. The ideal candidate has experience in managing both high-volume catering operations and upscale private dining, along with strong leadership and communication abilities. Creative flair, organizational skills, and a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences are essential for success in this position. Sodexo promotes an inclusive workplace, providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, or other protected characteristics, and fosters a culture where diversity is celebrated.
This is an exceptional opportunity for culinary professionals dedicated to advancing their careers in a challenging and rewarding corporate hospitality environment, and to contribute to Sodexo’s mission of improving quality of life for those they serve.
