Job Requirements
- Be punctual to begin work
- Wear proper uniform, including black slacks, Black Bear Diner shirt, suspenders, slip-proof black restaurant shoes, and name badge
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance
- Use and communicate through radio headset at all times during shift
- Ask guests if they enjoy their meal and thank them
- Handle cash and credit transactions properly
- Maintain menu inventory
- Be familiar with processes for entering comps, promos, and gift shop items into POS
- Help greet guests upon arrival with appropriate greetings
- Ensure Pie Case is stocked and clean
- Keep cash register station and surrounding areas clean
- Take accurate to-go orders
- Answer phone professionally
- Regularly check restrooms for cleanliness
- Balance sales at shift end
- Help maintain overall dining area cleanliness
- Address complaints professionally and seek supervisor assistance if needed
- Log all comps with manager approval
- Collect payment for employee meals
- Be able to stand and walk for long periods
- Use Guest Waiting Pad and paging system
- Smile and maintain cheerful disposition
- Engage guests in light conversation
- Multitask and communicate via radio headset
- Manage crowd control at entrance in friendly manner
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a customer service or restaurant role preferred
- Ability to handle cash and POS systems accurately
- Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties
- Greet all guests in a professional and friendly manner before, during and after meal periods
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accordingly
- Maintain menu inventory
- Count accuracy of bank before opening and count cash drawers with Manager at end of shift
- Stock and maintain cleanliness of Pie Case with freshly baked items properly tagged
- Take to-go food orders and ensure all packaged orders are correct
- Answer the phone in a professional and friendly manner
- Check restrooms for cleanliness at all times
- Balance all sales at the end of shift
- Assist with cleanliness of dining area including entry doors
- Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate if necessary
- Collect money for employee meals
- Assist with other tasks as assigned by management
