Job Requirements

  • Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Progressive culinary and kitchen management experience
  • Experience in high-volume cafe or foodservice settings
  • Familiarity with catering and special events
  • Knowledge of institutional and batch cooking techniques
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and kitchen management software
  • Commitment to sanitation, safety, and food preparation standards
  • Ability to supervise and mentor staff
  • Strong communication skills
  • ServSafe Certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Be a part of our dynamic team and help us elevate the art of dining in the heart of the city that never sleeps
  • Working as the Cafe Sous Chef, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department for a facility
  • You will assist in the supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, developing daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment
  • You may supervise hourly associates and you work with Executive Chef to develop new menus and assist with ordering
  • This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial Culinary professional
  • Support the Executive Chef in overseeing daily culinary operations, ensuring cost controls, efficiency, and exceptional food quality across the café
  • Assist in planning and developing menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, client preferences, and company standards
  • Lead the execution of catering functions and special events, ensuring flawless presentation and service
  • Collaborate with company marketing and culinary teams to launch and execute new programs and initiatives
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to sanitation, safety, and food preparation standards
