The role of Busser at B-Lux Grill and Bar within Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is critical to maintaining this outstanding guest experience. A Busser’s primary responsibility is to ensure the restaurant environment remains clean, organized, and welcoming, playing a vital role in supporting the servers and hosts to promote efficient table utilization and customer service. Bussers remove used dinnerware promptly, clean and reset tables between seatings, and maintain cleanliness of public restrooms to help provide guests with a comfortable dining atmosphere. This position is part of the leadership team and embodies the company’s core values by actively participating and promoting the Kalahari Promise. Bussers also must exhibit excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently during busy periods, and a customer-service mindset. Experience in restaurants, hotels, resorts, or similar service environments is helpful.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in food service or related field helpful
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-directed and able to work independently during busy times

Job Duties

  • Take dirty tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in the appropriate areas for washing
  • Between seating, promptly clean tabletops, chairs and booths
  • Check floors and clean them as required
  • Reset and arrange tabletop
  • Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean and replenish supplies as needed or alert the common area cleaners of problem areas
  • Communicate with server and hostess/host to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
