Founded in 2006 by Barry Sternlicht, Starwood Hotels has built its reputation on a mission-driven purpose that acts as its true north, directing all operational and service aspects. This purpose-based approach deeply influences the lives of its team members, enhances the guest experiences, fosters community among like-minded travelers, and commits to environmental stewardship. Starwood Hotels takes immense pride in its inclusive culture and sustainable workforce, ensuring diversity and equity as foundational pillars. Its commitment extends to providing an empowered workplace where every employee is respected and given opportunities to grow. The company is an equal opportunity employer, rigorously adhering to non-discrimination statutes on any protected basis under applicable law, and supports employees who may need special accommodations through its People Operations department.

The role of Busser at Starwood Hotels' Alteno Restaurant represents a vital support position within the Food & Beverage (F&B) team. Alteno Restaurant, inspired by Chef Johnny Curiel of One Michelin Star Alma Fonda Fina, celebrates the culinary heritage of Los Altos de Jalisco with traditional Jaliscan flavors and rustic preparations. The Busser position at Alteno requires a hardworking, attentive individual who understands the importance of fine details to enhance the overall dining experience. As a Busser, you will be an essential part of the restaurant's service team, primarily responsible for assisting servers in guest service and ensuring a clean, well-organized environment. This role demands attentiveness to every aspect of the dining area, including table preparation, stocking stations, clearing and resetting tables, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift.

The Busser must be skilled in multitasking, collaborative teamwork, and prompt responsiveness to guests' needs. Key responsibilities extend to polishing and storing silverware according to standards, managing linen and trash disposal efficiently, and adhering to all safety guidelines and federal and state regulations. The position also involves preparing for different meal services such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring that all mise en place items like salt, pepper, sauces, and sugar bowls are properly arranged. Additionally, the Busser supports bar area readiness by ensuring glassware, silverware, and plates are stocked before service. Strong communication skills in English and a willingness to learn, adapt to new situations, and work flexible schedules, including holidays, are important for succeeding in this role.

Starwood Hotels fosters a culture where every day and every experience matter deeply. The company recognizes that exceptional service begins with thoughtful and inspiring team members and leaders who prioritize collaboration and respect for nature. Life at Starwood Hotels motivates its employees to grow both personally and professionally, unlocking their potential to contribute meaningfully to an exquisite guest experience.
