The role of Desk Clerk at Blue Skies of Texas is a vital position within the Resident Services team, designed for dedicated professionals who are passionate about community engagement and exceptional service. Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of office, clerical, or secretarial experience preferred
- Some college hours or trade school training in business or related discipline is desirable
- Prior military experience is a plus
- Ability to work with only general supervision, exercise mature judgment, and be detail-oriented
- Able to function in an environment with frequent interruptions requiring multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must work harmoniously in a team environment and provide excellent customer service
- Professional manner with callers, walk-ins, and customers visiting the facility
- Maintain confidentiality and high ethical standards
- Excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills

Job Duties
- Greets residents, guests, and visitors and assists them with questions, directions, purchasing postage, sending documents via facsimile, making copies, and answering requests for information
- Coordinates requests for assistance directly with the on-duty Courtesy Officer
- Operates the automated point-of-sale (POS) and postage metering systems and performs the following functions: enters all Village Store purchases into the POS, operates postage metering machine and enters sales into POS, enters all other types of sales such as copies and faxes into POS, follows all internal control and operating procedures and policies
- Ensures efficient flow of internal mail by promptly routing all mail entering the Front Desk to the appropriate department
- Responds to requests from residents or guestroom visitors regarding maintenance or housekeeping needs, coordinates same with the Maintenance and Environmental Services departments, and enters service requests into the work order system
- Maintains and submits daily desk report of significant events and actions taken on shift, as applicable
- Answers incoming phone calls using effective customer service skills and forwards calls, as appropriate
