The role of Beverage Manager at American Place Casino is pivotal to maintaining the high standards of beverage service that the casino is famous for. This position is responsible for overseeing all beverage operations throughout the property, including bars, lounges, and gaming floor services. The Beverage Manager ensures exceptional guest service and operational efficiency while maintaining full compliance with all regulatory requirements related to beverage operations. Leadership is a key aspect of this role, as the manager leads and mentors a diverse team that includes bartenders, barbacks, and supervisors. They are responsible for training, coaching, and developing staff, fostering a positive workplace culture that aligns with the casino’s core values. Effective scheduling and performance evaluation are essential duties to maintain a high-performance team.

In addition to leadership, the Beverage Manager manages the financial aspects of beverage operations, including budgets, labor, and costs of goods sold. Inventory management, vendor relations, and implementing procedures to minimize waste and prevent loss are critical components of the role. The manager also analyzes sales trends and market opportunities to increase revenue and profitability through innovative beverage programming and special promotions. Ensuring an outstanding guest experience is a top priority, which involves overseeing all guest interactions related to beverage service, promptly addressing any concerns, and developing creative beverage menus and events that boost guest engagement.

Compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations is rigorously maintained, as is the safety of team members. The Beverage Manager enforces responsible alcohol service protocols and maintains organizational standards in beverage areas. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of multi-unit food and beverage operations or casino/hotel operations, substantial knowledge of service standards, storeroom procedures, and familiarity with all equipment used in beverage outlets. The position demands strong organizational skills, computer literacy, and the ability to work under high volume and stressful situations. Physical demands include prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as lifting and other movements typical to this dynamic working environment. Bilingual skills are preferred.

Position Salary Range: $60,000 to $97,500, employment type is full-time.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to frequently speak, read, write, stand, walk, bend, and stoop
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials up to 30 pounds
  • Exposure to casino-related environmental factors such as second-hand smoke, bright lights, and excessive noise
  • Exposure to commercial kitchen environmental factors
  • Able to obtain and maintain necessary licenses and/or certifications as required by local gaming regulations

Job Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in multi-unit food and beverage operations or casino/hotel operations
  • Thorough knowledge of standards for all aspects of food and beverage service, storeroom procedures, and cooking methods
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Familiarity with all equipment used in food and beverage outlets
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to handle high volume and stressful situations
  • Bilingual preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage beverage budgets including labor and cost of goods sold

  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to minimize waste and loss
  • Analyze sales reports and identify opportunities to increase revenue and profitability
  • Ensure all guests receive prompt, courteous, and personalized service
  • Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Develop beverage menus, promotions, and special events to enhance guest engagement
  • Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal alcohol laws and gaming regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all beverage areas
  • Enforce responsible alcohol service and team member safety protocols
