Job Description

Proper Hospitality is a leading hospitality company dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences through innovative and heartfelt service. Specializing in creating unique and inviting atmospheres across their diverse portfolio of bars and restaurants, Proper Hospitality consistently emphasizes quality, creativity, and a culture of inclusion. Their commitment to being among the best places to work in the hospitality industry is demonstrated through robust development programs, comprehensive employee benefits, and a workplace environment focused on respect, collaboration, and growth. They believe that hospitality is more than just a job - it is an opportunity to positively impact lives and foster meaningful connections.

The Bartender role at Proper Hospitality involves preparing and serving a wide variety of beverages including cocktails, mixed drinks, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic options according to established recipes and quality standards. This position demands efficiency and attention to detail to ensure every drink is made accurately and presented with flair to meet the company's high standards of taste and appearance. Bartenders will maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including managing glassware, garnishes, and all necessary ingredients.

Guest engagement is a central part of the role, as bartenders create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere by responding promptly and courteously to guest needs. They provide knowledgeable service by answering questions about drinks, menu offerings, and bar experiences. Bartenders are also tasked with upselling featured cocktails and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and boost sales. Handling guest concerns professionally and escalating issues when necessary is crucial for maintaining service excellence.

Maintaining bar cleanliness and hygiene is an ongoing responsibility, with bartenders ensuring that all bar tools, countertops, floors, and equipment meet stringent safety and sanitation standards. This includes the regular cleaning of glassware, utensils, blenders, shakers, coolers, and sinks. Stock management is essential, as bartenders assist with inventory control by monitoring and replenishing liquor, mixers, garnishes, and other supplies, while adhering to secure storage and company policies.

Effective teamwork with other bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff ensures smooth operational flow throughout service hours. Bartenders assist in bar setup before opening and closing procedures at the end of shifts, maintaining organizational efficiency. Additionally, experienced bartenders play a role in training new staff by sharing expertise on drink recipes, service techniques, and operational procedures.

Cash handling and transaction processing are also key components of the job, requiring bartenders to manage payments accurately and maintain proper cash drawer practices. The position requires prolonged periods of standing and mobility behind the bar.

This is a full-time role ideal for individuals passionate about cocktail craft, guest service, and working within a dynamic and supportive hospitality environment. Join Proper Hospitality to advance your career and be part of a community that values creativity, excellence, and humanity in the service of outstanding guest experiences.
