Job Description

American Place Casino is a premier gaming and entertainment hub located in Waukegan, dedicated to providing exceptional hospitality and guest experiences. As a prominent establishment in Lake County's thriving entertainment scene, American Place Casino combines a vibrant casino environment with top-notch service, making it a preferred destination for gaming enthusiasts and visitors alike. The company prides itself on fostering a positive work culture that emphasizes team development, well-being, and career growth opportunities. With a commitment to excellence, American Place Casino offers its employees a supportive and enjoyable workplace, ensuring that both guests and staff experience fulfillment and success.

The barback role at American Place Casino is a vital position within the bar team, aimed at maintaining smooth and efficient operations behind the scenes. This role involves supporting bartenders by ensuring that the bar area remains clean, organized, and fully stocked to meet the demands of a busy casino environment. Candidates suitable for this role are hardworking and reliable individuals who thrive in fast-paced settings and demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills. Adaptability and a willingness to learn and improve based on feedback are essential traits, while prior experience in hospitality or bar settings is advantageous but not compulsory.

Barbacks at American Place Casino support the guest experience by managing inventory and replenishing supplies, such as transporting beverage cases, stocking ice, glassware, and garnishes, and rotating fresh fruit to ensure quality. They play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and order across all bar areas, including handling keg restocking and trash disposal. Flexibility is key, as barbacks may be asked to assist with various tasks to ensure the overall success of the bar team. The position is not only a chance to contribute to a dynamic hospitality environment but also offers opportunities for career advancement within an expanding industry.

This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 30 pounds and endure extended periods of standing or walking during shifts. Working in a casino setting exposes employees to elements such as smoke, bright lighting, and noise, so candidates must be comfortable in such environments. Compensation for this position ranges from $15.20 to $24 per hour plus tips, reflecting both the responsibilities and fast-paced nature of the job. American Place Casino also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k matching programs, educational tuition reimbursement, and employee assistance programs.

Overall, the barback role at American Place Casino is an excellent entry point for individuals passionate about hospitality and looking to grow within Lake County's fastest-growing entertainment sector. The company's supportive culture and commitment to employee well-being create a promising pathway for personal and professional development in a vibrant and rewarding work environment.
