Job Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- 1 year experience in banquet food service
- TIPS training within 60 days of employment
- Fluency in English verbal and written
- Ability to compute basic arithmetic
- Ability to work variable and extreme hours
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift, carry and store approximately 30 pounds
- Ability to bend, squat and reach constantly
- Ability to push or pull carts weighing approximately 200 pounds

Job Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
- 1 year experience in banquet food service
- TIPS training within 60 days of employment
- Knowledge of various food service styles including French service, Russian service, and Butler style service
- Fluency in English both verbal and written
- Ability to provide clear communication and direction

- Supervisory experience is desirable

- Certification in alcohol awareness programs is desirable
- Certification in CPR is desirable
- Ability to suggestively sell is desirable
- Ability to use property management systems, computers and point of sales systems is desirable
- Previous guest relations training is desirable
- Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls is desirable
- Familiarity with sales and marketing tools for banquets is desirable
- Creative ability to decorate food tables and displays is desirable
Job Duties
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment and use equipment only as intended
- Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times
- Be familiar with all hotel services and local attractions to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Resolve guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
- Maintain complete knowledge of service requirements including menu selections, wine characteristics, pricing, group details, special requests, and VIPs
- Organize all assigned functions and complete preparation work according to departmental standards
- Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness and submit requisitions
- Requisition linens, china and silver required for functions
- Inspect function areas for cleanliness and proper setup and rectify deficiencies
- Coordinate with Chef and Stewarding on menu and equipment requirements
- Prepare station assignments for Banquet Servers according to group requirements
- Ensure assigned staff reports to work and document attendance
- Coordinate breaks and assign stations and sidework to Servers
- Conduct pre-function meetings with Servers and review information
- Inspect staff grooming and attire and rectify deficiencies
- Inspect table, bar, buffet setups for cleanliness and compliance
- Ensure replenishment of items as specified
- Set out name and escort cards as required
- Organize head table assembly and assist guest seating
- Meet with group coordinator prior to function and ensure arrangements
- Greet guests upon arrival and assist seating
- Direct Servers on timing of service
- Communicate additional meal requirements to Kitchen
- Monitor staff performance and rectify deficiencies
- Assist Banquet staff with job functions
- Observe guest reactions and confer with staff for satisfaction
- Total charges and prepare check for group payment
- Ensure unused food and banquet supplies are properly stored
- Direct final breakdown and cleanup of function room
- Ensure completion of closing duties
- Conduct staff training as assigned
- Provide feedback on staff performance and report disciplinary issues
- Foster a cooperative work climate and maximize morale
- Respond promptly to radio communications
- Complete maintenance work orders and coordinate urgent repairs
- Document information in department log book
- Complete all paperwork and closing duties
- Review assignments with Manager or Supervisor
- Must be certified in TIPS alcohol awareness training within 60 days of employment
