Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years of relevant baking experience
- Ability to demonstrate advanced baking skills
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Capability to obtain ServSafe certification within 90 days
- Proficiency with basic computer and office equipment
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to handle job demands including lifting 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally
- Willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments
- Ability to handle allergens and comply with safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- Advanced baking skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in a professional, classically disciplined restaurant, hotel, or club kitchen or a high volume, fast paced environment
- Associate degree may substitute for one year of experience
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to achieve ServSafe certification within 90 days
- Proficient with standard office equipment and general computer skills
- Basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and counting with whole numbers and fractions
- Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information
- Effective interpersonal skills to interact with guests and team members at all levels
- Ability to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays
- Physical capability to meet job demands including lifting, standing, and vision requirements
Job Duties
- Oversee, plan, and lead in all bread and baking production including breads, rolls, specialty items, and breakfast pastries
- Lead the baking team to hold team members accountable for performance and ensure food quality and visual appeal
- Carry out managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, motivating, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving problems
- Communicate departmental objectives and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Maintain safe, sanitary, and organized work environment and ensure sanitation procedures are followed
- Ensure timely inventory counts, proper rotation of stock, and assist in ordering and purchasing supplies
- Assist in menu development including recipe establishment, cost determination, and publishing menu specifications
- Manage food and labor costs within fiscal and operational guidelines
- Collaborate with Chefs across venues to ensure consistency and adherence to food guidelines
- Assist in training, testing, and coaching baking team members
- Work at other venues as assigned based on business needs
- Ensure full compliance with departmental internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
