At its core, Dollar General is not just a retail company but an organization that deeply values the unique strengths and perspectives that each employee brings to the table, recognizing that each individual's contributions truly make a difference in fulfilling its mission of Serving Others. With its extensive network of stores, distribution centers, a store support center, and private fleet team, Dollar General offers diverse career opportunities that foster growth and professional development for its employees.
The Assistant Store Manager at Dollar General plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of store operation and customer service excellence. This position supports the Store Manager in supervising staff, managing merchandise presentation, ensuring compliance with safety and company policies, handling store paperwork, and overseeing financial transactions such as deposits and cashiering functions. The Assistant Store Manager's responsibilities include opening and closing the store, scheduling employees, conducting safety meetings, and assisting in the implementation of store planograms to optimize product display. This role demands a customer-first focus to provide superior service and create a welcoming shopping environment. The position is an excellent opportunity for retail professionals looking to advance their careers in a supportive and mission-driven company that prioritizes growth, integrity, and community impact.
