GCNA operates retail stores that help fund its mission of ending unemployment by offering donated goods to the public at affordable prices. This organization is dedicated to providing opportunities for job growth while fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment centered around its core values: Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation. With many conveniently located stores, GCNA offers a platform where employees can thrive while making a meaningful impact in their communities. Employment with Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona also ensures access to a comprehensive total rewards package that supports the health and well-being of its employees and their families.
The position advertised is for a Retail Store Sales Floor Leader based at the Tempe, Arizona location. This role is a full-time position with an annual starting pay of $47,000. Additionally, it is eligible for a monthly performance bonus of up to $1,000, contingent upon meeting specific performance goals. The Sales Floor Leader plays a critical leadership role by managing daily retail operations in the sales floor area to maximize revenue, operating income, and customer satisfaction. This includes overseeing financial management, store and inventory operations, donation processing, and fostering a culture of excellent customer service.
The role demands a hands-on leader who will ensure the store meets budgeted payroll and operating costs while monitoring product levels including floor stock, seasonal back stock, and recycling. The Sales Floor Leader also directs store associates and customer service managers, ensuring all team members are well-trained and aligned with company standards. This position serves as a key holder, closing shift manager, and backup to the Store Manager, demonstrating the high level of responsibility vested in the role.
Furthermore, the position requires collaboration with community businesses and organizations to promote GCNA's mission, as well as partnership with other support departments such as Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, and Finance to maintain compliance and further business goals. The Sales Floor Leader is instrumental in building and managing a high-performing team, taking charge of performance management processes including coaching, discipline, staffing, compensation, and development.
The role also involves travel to assist other GCNA locations and attendance at training and development classes. Goodwill emphasizes modeling its core values and driving cultural change initiatives within the organization. Employees in this role benefit from working in a dynamic, mission-driven environment where their leadership contributes directly to community impact and the broader goal of ending unemployment.
