Shift Manager

Gold Cap Hospitality has a new concept coming to downtown Iowa City at the end of this year - and we are looking for managers to help execute our vision!

We’re looking for Shift Managers who know how to run a good shift: welcoming guests, setting the tone for the team, staying ahead of problems, and making sure the details don’t slip when things get busy.

This is a hybrid management position. Simply, your schedule will consist of a mix of hourly Managing shifts and tipped bartending/serving shifts.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Running opening, closing, and service shifts
• Making sure guests feel welcome and well taken care of
• Keeping the team organized and focused during service
• Assigning positions and adjusting coverage when needed
• Helping wherever the shift needs you
• Watching food, beverage, cleanliness, and service standards
• Handling guest concerns with good judgment
• Completing cash-handling and shift-reporting tasks accurately
• Coaching and directing employees
• Passing important information along to restaurant leadership

Previous restaurant experience required. Management or shift-lead experience is preferred, but we’re also open to experienced bartenders, servers, and hosts who are ready for more responsibility.

Flexible schedule. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability will be required.
